IPL

Skin Rejuvenation

As we age, our skin begins to show signs of aging, including pigmentation, sun damage, lines, wrinkles, and thread veins. Employing a particular IPL wavelength allows us to pinpoint and encourage skin regeneration, initiating repair that continues for several weeks post-treatment. IPL Rejuvention treatment is often used as the first means of targeting and improving mild to moderate signs of aging, after which, if more stubborn areas of vascular issues or pigmentation persist, we can target these more specifically.

For optimal results, a recommended course of 4 sessions is advised.

Active Acne

Utilizing IPL technology at various wavelengths, such as those employed for hair removal and addressing thread veins, we can extend its effectiveness to treat acne as well. The specific light wavelength targets P-Acnes, believed to contribute to many acne cases, diminishing sebaceous gland activity and subsequently reducing sebum production. This leads to a decrease in breakout severity or frequency, resulting in smoother and less inflamed skin texture. This treatment is applicable to areas prone to acne breakouts, including the back.

For optimal results, a course of 4 is advised.

Thread Veins & Broken Capillaries

Thread veins, can develop at any life stage, typically becoming more prevalent from the late 30s onward. Various factors, including weather, medication, lifestyle, or health conditions, contribute to their occurrence. They may appear in small amounts or clusters, especially on the cheeks, nose, and legs. Additionally, vascular lesions like cherry angiomas (blood spots), spider naevi, and rosacea, are part of this category.

When looking to treat these veins we are looking for them to be fine in diameter, and red in colour. This is because a specific wavelength of IPL targets oxyhemoglobin (blood) in the skin, creating a thermal effect that induces coagulation. The damaged vessels are then absorbed by the immune system. This wavelength sees the red. It does not effectively target other colours such as purple or blue. Thread veins are typically quite shallow, perfect for our IPL device. Deeper veins, and veins such as varicose veins require a different treatment.

Results can be achieved in as little as 1 session, however multiple sessions may be required to achieve the desired result.

Pigmentation and Sun spots

Pigmentation can manifest due to various factors, such as sun damage, medication, or aging and is not limited to the face; pigmentation often affects the chest and hands and other areas of the body as well. Employing IPL or using our ND YAG laser, we target melanin in the skin responsible for pigmentation, bringing it to the surface, forming microcrusts that gradually flake away.

Results can be achieved in as little as 1 session, however multiple sessions may be required to achieve the desired result.
